STARS dispatchers are critically important as they are our first contact with our passengers. Dispatching is an easy way to volunteer from home one or two days a month and help those who need rides to medical appointments.
All volunteer DISPATCHERS must have:

Online scheduling software
We use a software program called Spedsta for online scheduling and ride notifications. We will explain this easy-to-use program in detail during your Dispatcher training.
In training, we will:
Review basic STARS policies and procedures.
Show you the online process for using Spedsta to book, modify and cancel rides.
Review STARS Dispatcher Reference Guide and Dispatcher FAQs.
Password-protected profile
Once we receive your application, we will set up a Spedsta Dispatcher account online and provide your login information. Once received, you will complete your password-protected profile by entering or verifying your personal information: name, phone, physical and mailing addresses, etc.
A background check
Must be completed before you volunteer for STARS.
